The two organizations have been working together for more than 10 years, with NTT Data assisting the Holy See in creating a digital archive of its valuable assets using AMLAD, NTT's digital archiving solution.

The archiving agreement was signed in 2014, and saw an initial commitment to digitalize 3,000 of the 82,000 manuscripts in the Vatican Library collection.

NTT Data is set to continue this archiving project to "create new value by preserving reliable sources of knowledge and making them available for use."

During 2025, the Holy See is celebrating both its "Jubilee Year," and is participating in Expo 2025 Osaka. NTT Data will be assisting with these celebrations.

"NTT Data is our technology partner in Japan. We appreciate their support for our participation in the Osaka-Kansai Expo, and we are very pleased to be working with a company that understands the significance and importance of the role and activities of the Holy See, which are present in so many parts of the world," said Archbishop Rino Fisichella.

At the Expo, NTT Computer and Data Science Laboratories' Personalized Sound Zone technology will be used to create an Acoustic XR experience.

NTT Data is a technology services company, and part of NTT Group. Its sister company, NTT GDC, is a global data center provider. NTT GDC has three data centers in Japan: Tokyo 11, Osaka 7, and Keihanna Data Center. NTT operates more facilities across the country through its different units.
